Office and Practice Consultations.
Does your practice struggle with Evaluation and Management Coding? If so, you're not alone. Onsite practice consultations are an extremely effective way to improve practice profitability, especially when coding and billing are a challenge. From a small private practice to a large multi-provider clinic, Jim can work with your concerns and needs to improve the overall documentation, coding and billing challenges you face.
Training your medical and billing staff to utilize Evaluation and Management Codes correctly and efficiently is the focus of our efforts. A formal, comprehensive workshop on documentation, coding and billing issues is available which discusses documentation issues, evaluation and management codes, medical decision making and chart auditing. This is an amazing experience and reinforces the correct application of clinical care with the appropriate documentation, which allows for correct billing and increased return on those billings.
Utilization of physician assistants and nurse practitioners may also be addressed with the goal of integrating their services in a way that not only improves overall clinic services and patient satisfaction, but improves access to care for all patients. Making sure that your practice understands the "Incident To" rule is essential to your success.
When requested, we can review billing practices, aged balanced summaries and other billing issues and assist with formulating a plan of action to reduce outstanding collectables. Other areas of interest that may be addressed during on site practice consultations may include the development of superbills and other clinic forms, patient flow issues, staff utilization and other practice profitability issues.
Remember; "The art and science of practicing medicine is not a business, but there is a business involved in the peripheral aspects of ensuring that the service is delivered (Greg N. Korneluk, Practice Enhancement: The Physician's Guide to Success in Private Practice. Macmillan Publishing Company, New York, New York, 1985. pg 263)." Don't let the medical side of your practice slide due to neglect of the business side.
